PNL Nursing has helped many very sick and disabled children to be cared for at home with their families.
Home nursing is the preferred option of many young people and their parents, offering children direct improvements to their physical and mental health and quality of life. But further, it is often an effective and economical alternative to long-term hospital stays. Stabilising healthcare at home can even prevent the causes of costly hospital readmissions.
PNL Nursing works closely with Continuing Care Nurses, District Nurses, Social Care Managers, Nurse Assessors and GPs throughout London and the south east. Together we determine whether managed home nursing or care is the most appropriate and cost-efficient option for an individual; in many instances we go on to provide a tailored, professionally managed service that meets the needs of both the patient and the commissioning organisation.
We may provide staff a couple of days or nights a week to give family carers valuable respite; often our carers or nurses are in place 5 or 7 days a week and/or overnight. Case studies show how children with chronic conditions and terminal illness, and their carers, have enjoyed greatly enhanced quality of life once a managed nursing and care package has been put in place.
